Overview

The St. Mary’s girls program is focused on overall athletic development while creating pathways to NCAA Divisions 1 and 3 and ACHA Division 2 college hockey. With extensive experience coaching both boys and girls, Director Pittis understands that to play at the highest levels, girls need to be coached in a different manner than boys. This often requires encouraging and empowering girls to take ownership of the game with a focus on possession and playmaking ability. Players are taught to read and react to the game and are given the freedom to be creative, develop their athletic performance, and play with a strong sense of teamwork. This approach has produced positive results with multiple St. Mary’s girls making it to the 2021 USA Hockey National Player Development camp in St. Cloud, MN.
